Lynn S.K. by Abdo Shanan

After studying cinema, Lynn S.K. opted for photography in order to develop research into images around sisterhood, buried memory and the geographical in-between, directly derived from her own personal history, rooted between France and Algeria.

Her work around female identity and adolescence led her to collaborate regularly with authors such as Virginie Despentes, for the film Bye-Bye Blondie, and Lola Lafon, espacially We are the birds of the coming storm.

Lynn has participated in solo and group exhibitions in France and abroad : Town Hall of the 4ème, Third Biennial of contemporary Arab world photography, Paris (2019), Encounters of Young International Photography, Niort (2019), Photoforum Pasquart, Bienne (2020), Bastion 23/Palais des Raïs, Algiers (2017). She also collaborates with the press and publishing houses : Actes Sud, la Déferlante, Actes Sud...

The artist was a laureate of the 'Regards du Grand Paris' supported by the Ateliers Médicis and the Cnap (2023), and of the great photographic commission of the french Ministry of Culture led by the BnF (2021), and the Support for Documentary Photography of the Cnap (2020).

She has won several awards, including the Sony World Photography Awards (2018), and has been nominated for the Foam Paul Huf Award (2019), and the Cap Prize (2020).

Lynn is also a mentor for the Tilawin Project, a mentoring and exchange platform for women photographers based in Algeria and from the diaspora.
